Luminate is being acquired!

Hi,

I’m writing for two reasons: first, to thank you for your business over the last few years and second, to bring you up to date on some changes to the Luminate in-image ad platform. We would like to be the first to inform you that Luminate is going to be acquired by a third party.

As part of this acquisition, we are ending our in-image monetization services for publishers as of today, September 2, 2014. If your site(s) has accrued an outstanding balance greater than $10USD, we will issue your payment no later than September 30. If your remaining balance is less than $10USD, you will not receive any payments as per our Publisher Agreement.

Note: In order for Luminate to send final payments, your payment information must be entered and up to date. To do so, login to luminate.com, click 'sites', click on your corresponding site(s) URL, then enter the payment information on the 'payment' tab.

Thank you again for your support. It has been a pleasure working with you. Further details on the acquisition will be posted to our homepage once the acquisition is closed.

Sincerely,

James Everingham, Luminate CEO

Luminate is joining YAHOO!

Six years ago we started our adventure to make online images come alive for publishers and advertisers. We've built a platform that over 10,000 publishers use to generate incremental revenue from contextually relevant targeted advertisements. Our novel crowdsourcing and image detection technology has fundamentally changed how advertisers and publishers think about their image content.

We are thrilled to be joining Yahoo where we can continue to bring innovative experiences to an even larger audience.

We will be stopping all of our in-image services as of Wednesday, September 3, 2014.

If you are a Luminate publisher, our JavaScript snippet will no longer run anything on your site. If your site(s) have individually earned over $10, you will be receiving a final payment for each site by September 30, 2014. If you are a Luminate Direct advertiser, you will be refunded the remainder of your balance by September 30, 2014.

All Luminate publishers, advertisers and experts will be able to login and access account information until October 1, 2014.

A million thanks to all that have joined us on our incredible adventure: our customers, our experts, our investors and our friends and family.

Sincerely,
James Everingham, CEO, and the Luminate Team

Linux File and Directory Permissions

file & directory protection is a essential of any OS and Linux OS is no exception for it! These authorizations allow you to choose exactly who can access your files & directory, providing an overall improved system security. There was one of the major flaws in the older Windows operating-system where, by standard, all users can see each other people's information (Windows 95, 98, Me). For overcoming it, editions of the Windows based computer system such as NT, 2000, XP and 2003 lot more security features added. They fully support file & directory permissions, just as Linux system has since the beginning. Together, we'll now assess a directory listing from our Lab Linux system hosting server, to help us understand the information provided. a simple 'ls' command will give you the file and directory listing within a given directory, including the option  '-l' will display number of new areas that we are going to discuss here:

How to create a Hirens Boot CD 15.2 USB Disk

Hiren’s BootCD (HBCD) is a bootable CD that contains a set of tools that can help users to fix their computer if their system fails to boot. More specifically, HBCD contains hardware diagnostic programs, partition tools, data recovery utilities, antivirus tools and many other tools to fix your computer problems.  I write this article because I use Hiren’s BootCD frequently to troubleshoot computer problems, specially when a computer doesn’t boot anymore due to a virus attack or due to a corrupted file system. In this article you will find instructions on how to put Hiren’s BootCD on a USB flash drive (stick) in order to troubleshoot computer problems in the future.
